Monthly Winter Stays in Montana's Flathead Valley
Planning a longer winter in Montana? The Evergreen is a furnished six-bedroom home in Somers, near the north shore of Flathead Lake, and we welcome enquiries for monthly stays between November and April. It suits remote workers, travel nurses on a winter contract and ski-season visitors who want a real home base instead of a string of hotel nights. We do not publish monthly prices; ask about monthly rates for your dates and we will reply with what is possible.

Who a monthly winter stay works for
Most Flathead Valley lodging is priced and planned around long weekends. A monthly stay is a different kind of trip. You need a kitchen you will actually cook in, a reliable place to work, room to store skis and boots, and somewhere to recover after a long shift or a long day on the mountain. The Evergreen was built for groups, which means it has more space than a single traveller or small household usually finds in a winter rental.
Remote workers come for the quiet weekdays and the lake and mountain views on the weekends. Travel nurses and other healthcare professionals on a seasonal assignment in the valley look for a furnished home with a predictable routine. Ski-season visitors want to be within reach of both Whitefish Mountain Resort and Blacktail Mountain Ski Area for the whole winter rather than a handful of days. Families relocating to the area sometimes need a comfortable base while they look for something permanent.
What you get in the house
The Evergreen has six bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms with flexible sleeping arrangements, so a small household can spread out and a working couple can each have a quiet room for calls. The property listing includes free Wi-Fi; if your work depends on a specific connection speed, ask us before you commit and we will share what we know.
The open kitchen has island seating and a long dining table, so weekly grocery runs and real home cooking are easy. For the evenings there is a stone-fireplace great room, a second lounge with a linear fireplace and puzzle table, a private speakeasy with a poker table and a game room with arcade cabinets, a pool table, foosball and air hockey. Outside, the covered hot tub and barrel sauna sit off the back deck, and a stone fire pit is ringed with Adirondack chairs.
The driveway and three-car garage help in snowy months. You will still want a vehicle that is ready for Montana winter roads.
A winter routine in the Flathead Valley
Somers is a small lakeside community on the north end of Flathead Lake. The lake itself is about eight minutes away by car, using public parks, beaches and boat ramps; the house does not have private lake access. The town of Whitefish is about 30 minutes north, Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is about 40 minutes away and the west entrance of Glacier National Park is under an hour, with winter access limited to the lower part of Going-to-the-Sun Road.
Kalispell, the valley's main service town with grocery stores and shops, is a short drive. Glacier Park International Airport serves the valley for visitors and family coming in during your stay. Weather and road conditions can change quickly in winter; check Montana's 511 road report before longer drives.
How to ask about monthly rates
We do not post monthly pricing because it depends on the dates, the length of the stay and how many people will be living in the home. To ask about monthly rates, send an enquiry with your arrival and departure dates, how many people will stay, the reason for your trip (remote work, a healthcare contract, a ski season or something else) and any questions about the house. You can also check the live booking calendar first to see which weeks are open.
Every stay follows the same house rules as a shorter booking: no parties or events, quiet hours and respect for the neighbours. Confirm your full party size on the current booking page; the booking page and your rental agreement set the final terms.
What November to April looks like
Early winter in the Flathead Valley is quiet, with shorter days and the first snow in the mountains. Ski areas set their own opening days each season, so check the official sites before you plan around a date. Midwinter brings the busiest ski weeks and Whitefish's winter events. By March and April the days lengthen, the snow softens on the mountain and the valley starts to turn toward spring, a good stretch for people who want both late-season skiing and early hikes at lower elevations.
Because a monthly stay overlaps holidays, long weekends and ski weeks, it is worth asking early. We will tell you plainly which dates are possible.
The Evergreen has no private, deeded, direct or property-specific lake access. Flathead Lake is reached the same way everyone else does — nearby public beaches, public boat ramps, marinas and parks. No boat, dock or slip is included with the stay.
